The history of Rogers can be traced back to the invention of the first alternating current (AC) radio tube invented in 1925 by Edward Rogers, Sr. Today, Rogers owns and operates assets ranging from radio and television to printed media and wireless communications.

In 2003, Rogers began opening a new line of stores across Canada called Rogers Plus. The aim of these new stores would be to focus on a combination of products and services, including wireless communications, HDTV, digital cable, home phone, and high-speed internet.
